In 2024, the “International Torch Campaign” was launched from Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, to give a new dimension to Indian and World Cinema. The campaign promotes global cultural exchange, cinematic collaboration, peace, and international friendship through the universal language of film.
The Largest Campaign Ever Dedicated to Indian Cinema
In 2022, a historic campaign was conducted in major cities like Guwahati, Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, and Hyderabad to promote Indian regional cinema with legendary stars and industry professionals. The initiative created unprecedented awareness and recognition for Indian cinema across the country.
From India to the world, the Torch Campaign symbolizes unity, peace, cultural exchange, and the power of cinema to connect people across nations, languages, and communities.
Over the Years
Over the years, many of India’s top directors and writers have graced the Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF) as guests and speakers, including renowned names like Hema Mailini, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Prakash Jha, Hariharan, Devyani, Ravina Tandon, Diya Mirza and many others. JIFF has also welcomed around 100 leading filmmakers from across the globe.

Sharmila Tagore, Rajshri Productions, Sri Dilip Kumar, Sri Majid Majidi, Sri Prakash Jha, Sri Ramesh Prasad, Sri Surendra Bohra, Sri Robin Bhatt, Sri Prem Chopra, Sri Shaji N. Karun, Sri Javed Siddiqi, Smt. Aparna Sen, Smt. Kamini Kaushal, Late Sri Yash Raj Chopra and Late Sri Dharmendra.
Our prestigious jury has featured globally acclaimed professionals such as Jim Rygiel, a three-time Academy Award (Oscar) and three-time BAFTA winner for Best Visual Effects for the iconic The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Hollywood’s Stephen Castor, business partner of Jim Rygiel, also serves on the jury. Marc Baschet, a renowned producer and cinematographer known for No Man’s Land (Oscar Winner, 2001), Before the Rain (1994), and The Adopted Son (1998), has been a jury member and has attended JIFF three time.
The Chairperson of the Jury is eminent Indian filmmaker and cinematographer Shaji N. Karun, whose debut film Piravi (1988) won the Caméra d'Or – Mention d'honneur at the 1989 Cannes Film Festival.
